Even if there isn’t an open position, HR professionals can request management to consider you if they have an extra workload. The more people you know in the industry, the better your chances are.
2. Practice Common HR Tasks
You don’t necessarily need to take lengthy courses to get practical knowledge. You can easily learn many HR tasks online through resources like YouTube and Google.
For example, you can watch videos about interviews, drafting letters, and managing employee requests.
You can also download free templates and use sample data to practice these tasks. By doing so, you’ll gain practical knowledge that will help you stand out during your job search.
