Aadhar authentication failure for EPF has become a common error for EPF members who are trying to link their Aadhar number with a UAN number. You need to link your Aadhar with UAN to avail online PF facilities such as online PF withdrawal or transfer etc.
If your data like name, DOB, gender present in your Aadhar card and PF portal don’t match then you will get the following error that “aadhaar authentication failed. aadhaar number name dob or gender mismatch with registered data. epfo. ” Here we have a solution for this problem
How to Solve Aadhaar Number Name DOB Gender Mismatch in EPF Portal
The solution for this problem is you need to match the details present on the Aadhar card with the details in the PF portal. If your details are wrong on the Aadhar card then you need to correct them on the Aadhar card, if your details are wrong in the PF account then you need to correct them in the PF account.
i) Suppose if your demographic details like name, DOB, gender are wrongly mentioned on Aadhar then you need to visit your nearest Aadhar enrollment center to correct them, or if your mobile number is already linked to your Aadhar then you can correct them online also.
ii) If your details are wrongly mentioned in the PF portal, then you need to correct your details in PF portal either online or offline.
To correct your PF details offline submit PF joint declaration form to your regional EPF office, then within 20-30 days your details will be corrected once they are corrected then you can link your Aadhar with your UAN.
(Or)
You can also correct your basic demographic details online at the UAN member portal. For that login to UAN member portal and go to manage option and there click on modify basic details option. Now a new page will open there enter your correct details and request your employer to approve those details.
iii) In some rare cases, you may not able to find your details in the PF portal i.e your employer may not enter your complete details in PF portal. For example, if your employer doesn’t mention your gender in PF portal then while linking your Aadhar with UAN you will get invalid gender details for Aadhar authentication error.
Similarly, if they don’t enter your DOB, then you may get the error that aadhaar authentication failed. pi (basic) attributes of demographic data did not match in epfo.
In this case, ask your HR department to update your missing details in PF portal, once they update your details in their employer PF portal then you can link your Aadhar with UAN number.
The employer can easily update your missing details in their employer PF portal and this doesn’t require the approval of your regional EPF office, whereas for corrections you need the approval of your regional EPF office.
