Aadhaar Authentication Failed. Aadhaar Number, Name, DOB or Gender Mismatch with Registered Data.

Aadhar authentication failure for EPF has become a common error for EPF members who are trying to link their Aadhar number with a UAN number. You need to link your Aadhar with UAN to avail online PF facilities such as online PF withdrawal or transfer etc.

If your data like name, DOB, gender present in your Aadhar card and PF portal don’t match then you will get the following error that “aadhaar authentication failed. aadhaar number name dob or gender mismatch with registered data. epfo. ” Here we have a solution for this problem

How to Solve Aadhaar Number Name DOB Gender Mismatch in EPF Portal

aadhaar authentication failed. aadhaar number name dob or gender mismatch with registered data. epfo

The solution for this problem is you need to match the details present on the Aadhar card with the details in the PF portal. If your details are wrong on the Aadhar card then you need to correct them on the Aadhar card, if your details are wrong in the PF account then you need to correct them in the PF account.

i) Suppose if your demographic details like name, DOB, gender are wrongly mentioned on Aadhar then you need to visit your nearest Aadhar enrollment center to correct them, or if your mobile number is already linked to your Aadhar then you can correct them online also.

ii) If your details are wrongly mentioned in the PF portal, then you need to correct your details in PF portal either online or offline.

To correct your PF details offline submit PF joint declaration form to your regional EPF office, then within 20-30 days your details will be corrected once they are corrected then you can link your Aadhar with your UAN.

(Or)

You can also correct your basic demographic details online at the UAN member portal. For that login to UAN member portal and go to manage option and there click on modify basic details option. Now a new page will open there enter your correct details and request your employer to approve those details.

How to Solve Aadhaar Number Name DOB Gender Mismatch in EPF Portal

iii) In some rare cases, you may not able to find your details in the PF portal i.e your employer may not enter your complete details in PF portal. For example, if your employer doesn’t mention your gender in PF portal then while linking your Aadhar with UAN you will get invalid gender details for Aadhar authentication error.

Similarly, if they don’t enter your DOB, then you may get the error that aadhaar authentication failed. pi (basic) attributes of demographic data did not match in epfo.

aadhaar authentication failed. pi (basic) attributes of demographic data did not match in epfo

In this case, ask your HR department to update your missing details in PF portal, once they update your details in their employer PF portal then you can link your Aadhar with UAN number.

The employer can easily update your missing details in their employer PF portal and this doesn’t require the approval of your regional EPF office, whereas for corrections you need the approval of your regional EPF office.

  1. While clicking on the submit button in the online claims page i get this below error

Error: Invalid key info in digital signature (this means that certificate used for signing the authentication request is not valid – it is either expired, or does not belong to the AUA or is not created by a well-known Certification Authority).

Has anyone faced this error before and does it require any action from our side to rectify this?

    • Hi Donald,
May be the validity of your employer’s digital signature has expired, so better contact with your employer.

Googled for it shows that it is Error 570 on Aadhar site. Has anyone faced this and if so how did they resolve it?

It is very rare to get that kind of error during online PF claim, so it is better to contact EPF grievance department.

Only your employer can able to add your missing details in their employer PF portal. It will take less than 2 minutes so please ask your employer to add your gender and DOB. After updating try to link your aadhar number with UAN number. I think your name will not be a problem.

But after doing authentication , i got a mail from UIDAI saying that authentication is success . visted PF office again , they seems to have no clue about this issue

    • Hi Deepak,
Once you have authenticated your aadhar then you can link your KYC in uan member portal, there is no need to visit PF office. After updating kyc details your employer needs to approve them with their digital signature. After their approval, your kyc will appear in the verified section.

  13. Hi Rajesh,

I had done the exact steps mentioned by you, a week ago. Will it take lot of time time to reflect in EPF portal? Because when I click on “Claim” in Online Services” I still get the error “AADHAAR is not authenticated from UIDAI. Please authenticate your AADHAAR by visiting nearest EPFO office”. However in KYC section under “Approved KYC” in front of Aadhaar it gives the status as “Verified!!(Before doing the above steps also!)

    • Hi Shashanka Kulamarva,
Please share the screenshot of verified kyc at rajesh@hrcabin.com so that I can know the exact problem.
Aadhar authentication failed means your data was missed in Aadhar portal, it has to be updated either through biometric verification or mobile OTP verification. You can do it in any of your nearest Aadahr service centers.

        • Hi Shashanka Kulamarva,
As per your screenshots, everything is looking fine, But I couldn’t able to understand why you still get aadhar authentication error. Do one thing visit any aadhar service center and tell them to authenticate your Aadhar number, they will do it by using OTP sent to your registered mobile number. If it doesn’t work then you can submit EPF composite claim form non aadhar, it doesn’t require employer attestation in your case.

    • Hi RanchhodDangar,
You have to check whether your data mentioned in employer PF portal is matching with your Aadhar card details or not. You can ask your employer to check this in their employer PF portal.
