How to Get Relieving Letter from HR After Absconding

If you absconded from your job and didn’t serve the notice period, then there are two ways to get your relieving letter are 1. by writing an apology mail to the HR or the superior officer, and 2. by paying the notice period amount.

If you abscond, you will lose your legal right to get your experience and relieving letters. But if you deal with this situation in a harmonious and professional way, your company can provide the relieving letter.

The first thing you have to do after absconding is write an email to your HR stating that you left the job for some personal/emergency reasons. In case the reason is very specific, it is better to be specific about it.

Take 2 to 3 days after absconding and write an email to the HR, or you can also make a phone call.

(You can send this sample apology email to the HR
◦ Note: Don’t use the word “Abcond” in the email.

Sub: Apology and request for a relieving letter.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apologise for not serving the notice period at Lorem Software Solutions. I had to leave the job suddenly because of personal reasons.

I regret not serving the notice period due to unavoidable personal reasons. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

I respect the company and the work I did here. I now want to complete the exit process properly.

I kindly request that you give me the relieving letter and help with the final settlement.

I am willing to pay the notice period amount if the company asks me to do so.

Please consider my request.

Thanking you.

I kindly request you to reconsider my request. It would really help me in my future job.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanking you.
