How to Update KYC Details for PF Withdrawal in 2019

Linking KYC details like Aadhar number, bank account number with UAN number is mandatory to claim PF amount online, there are some cases where PF claim amount is more than 50000 Rs then you need to link your PAN number also. EPF KYC linking involves two steps they are 1. Updating EPF KYC online and 2. Approving EPF KYC details by the employer.

Step 1: To update KYC details with UAN number login to UAN member portal with UAN number and password. After login go to Manage option in the menu and select KYC option from the submenu.

Step 2: Now enter Bank account details like A/C number and IFSC code, Aadhar details like Aadhar number and name, and PAN number(Not mandatory for claims below 50000 Rs in less than 5 yrs of service). After adding all the details click on save.

Step 3: After saving KYC details they will appear under KYC approval pending section. Once KYC details appear under approval pending section then the work of the employee is completed. Now it is the duty of the employer to approve KYC details of employee. Let’s see how they approve employee KYC details.

How Employer Approves EPF KYC Details of Employees

Step 1: To approve EPF KYC details employer should login to employer PF portal with establishment user id and password. In home page go to Member option in the menu and select Approve KYC pending for DS. (Employer need digital signature or E sign to approve KYC details)

Step 2: Now the employer can view the list of KYC requests which are pending for approval. Employer can check those details by clicking on view option. Now click on DS KYC or esign KYC option under approve section.

Step 3: Now insert digital signature pen drive in the computer and approve KYC details of employees. Remember Digital signature will work only in Mozilla FireFox version below 48 and Google Chrome version 48. To know more details click on this link system requirements for digital signature.

  2. Please help me regarding following message when i try to withdraw PF

    “As your service is less than five years and your verified PAN details are not available under Unified portal,Income Tax at the highest slab of 34.6% is liable to be deducted if your settlement amount crosses Rs.50,000/-.You are advised to update your PAN details before filling for Onlilne claim and also check your balance before proceeding to submit PF settlement claim.”

    As my PAN is already verified by the employer and one more clarification regarding the withdrawal
    settlement amount Rs.50,000/- means (employer+employee) share or else including Pension withdrawal

      It includes both your PF & pension amounts.
      If your PAN details are present in your KYC approved section then you can claim your PF online. But I don’t know why it is still showing your PAN is not verified. So it is better to raise a grievance at PF portal
      (Or)
      You can claim your PF amount offline by submitting EPF composite claim form aadhar along with PAN card copy and form 15G, then no tax will be deducted. You don’t need your employer attestation on PF composite claim form aadhar if your aadhar number and bank account details are linked to your UAN number, otherwise you have to submit EPF composite claim form non aadhar with your employer attestation.

I had updated my AADHAR and PAN details in EPF account, both the documents are approved by my employer but in online verification status it is showing AADHAR is verified by UIDAI but under PAN it is showing unverified. What is the issue here? Do i get 34% deduction in tax if i withdraw PF. What is the solution for me ?

      If you are withdrawing a PF amount of more than 50000Rs within 5 years of your service then only tax will be deducted, otherwise, there is no need of PAN.

        My all KYC including bank details have been approved by my employer but under verification its says NA.
        For online PF claim it says employer needs to verify bank details.

          Your employer has to approve your KYC in their employer PF portal with their digital signature. So please ask your employer to approve your KYC.

      You need to link your PAN card with your PF UAN number at UAN member portal and it has to be approved by your employer PF portal, once your employer approves it then you can claim your PF amount.
      Note: Whenever you are claiming a PF amount of more than 50000 Rs with in 5 yrs of your service then tax will be deducted from your PF amount. In order to get tax exemption you need to link your PAN with your UAN number.

      • Sir, I have 3 UAN numbers because previously I worked with those companies.One of them my account was inoperative. that UAN number is 100441473246. Here while I try to upload aadhar document it gives error “gender mismatch” also DOB and gender like information is not available for this UAN number.Should I need to contact employer?

          It happens when your data misses in PF portal, so you need to contact your employer and tell them to add your missing details in their employer PF portal.

    My Aadhaar details are reflecting under Approved KYC so that means my aadhaar details has already been updated. When can i expect the PF amount to be transferred into my BANK ACCOUNT.

      Your aadhar details are already updated so please apply for online transfer at uan member portal, within 15-30 days your PF amount will be transferred to your present account.

      • I have already given all the documents to my employer on my last working day. Aadhaar Number has just been linked on 10th of November. So I was just curious to know when the money can be transferred to my bank account. Like in how many working days.

      You need to correct the incorrect name details either in Aadhar card or EPFO portal. To correct your name in aadhar card visit your nearest aadhar enrollment center, to correct your name in EPFO portal submit EPF joint declaration form to PF office.

  10. I updated my Aadhar no on UAN portal 4 months ago and it is still pending for approval. I asked my company PF vendor and they stated that its pending for digital approval. Is it right that a technical issue can persist for more than three months. From where I can get the right information or any other way to get aadhar no in system?

      At present there are no technical issues, PF sites are working fine. it is the responsibility of your employer to approve your kyc with their digital signature. So pls ask them to approve.

  12. I uploaded my Aadhar in KYC. My employer also approved it. Now my aadhar is displayed in Approved list. There is a button to verify it. When I click on the verify button, the following error is thrown. “Error While verifying Aadhar. Try Again Later. ” and sometimes it shows “Aadhaar authentication failed. AADHAAR number, Name, DOB or Gender mismatch with registered data”

    While updating KYC details, Error like ‘Pan verfication failed. (Name against UAN does not match with the NAME in Income Tax Department)”. How to resolve it. ? I checked in income tax department my name is matching with uan and pan of incom tax dept. If possible provide help desk number. or give me bangalore zonal cc number.     As per direction I opened M. Firefox website and When I fill my KYC details in option ( AADHAR) Error like:- Aadhar authentication failed, Aadhar number, Name, DOB or Gender mismatch with registered date pls sir what does mean? Give some idea how I update my KYC details…..

      It is not possible to change dob in online. You have to fill EPF composite claim form and submit it to PF Office.

      Your KYC have to be approved by your employer in their PF portal with the digital signature. Once they approve then they will appear in approved KYC section.
