Even though your employer doesn’t update date of exit in PF portal but still there are some options are available to claim your PF amount. Here I have listed some best possible 3 ways to claim your PF amount without date of exit. But remember all these methods will work only on offline.

i) Write Your Last Working Month Date on PF Claim Forms

For example, if you have left in October 2018 then you have to mention the date of exit as 31 October 2018. Similarly, if you have left your job in December 2018 then you should mention your date of leaving as 31 December 2018. 90% of EPF date of exit problems will be solved by this method.

ii) Request EPFO Officer

The second method is by requesting EPF officer, in case if your EPF officer asks you that the DOE is not mentioned for your UAN, then tell him the exact reason that your employer is not updating DOE, then the EPF officer will update your date of exit in PF portal and accepts your PF application.

iii) Raise a Grievance at PF Portal On Your Employer

I hope the above Two methods will be enough for solving your problem, but you can give a complaint about your employer in EPF grievance portal so that the future employees of your organization will not face this problem. Sometimes EPF officer will call your employer about this issue after raising your grievance.

  1. I have relocated abroad and my last employer exit (in India) was in July 2017. – a service of 3 years from June 2014. The reason for job exit mentioned on UAN portal is a generic – short service (cessation). Seems like a generic code.
    I now submitted my claim for PF withdrawal using Online form 19 – however, PF office rejected my claim stating Date of joining / leaving not updated. However, the service history shows the correct date of joining and leaving.
    (UAN is activated, Aadhar is updated, PAN is mentioned and bank account is seeded too)
    I am wondering what could be the real reason for rejection?

    I also notice the online form 19 from the UAN portal does not ask for a reason for PF withdrawal. I would like to withdraw it for the reason of permanent settlement abroad. I don’t know where to mention this. Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks. I didn’t fill form 31 combined since it is only for PF advance / part settlement – and I wanted a full settlement due to migration.

    • You have to transfer your previous company PF to the present company, after transfer you can withdraw total PF amount from the present company.

    How many days does it take to for the exit date to apear in our UAN portal. Its been a week since my employer updated the exit date. It appears correctly on the employer portal whereas it doesnt appear in my service history at all. What do I do in this case?

    • It will be updated within minutes, may be your employer not approved it in their PF portal. Now you can update your date of exit yourself in UAN member portal, so it is better to update yourself.

    I am Dhrveender Tiwari ,willing to withdraw my pf but I am unable to withdraw it as there are two member id in my UN no while date of exit mentioned for both member id.
    during otp validation its reflecting error like that : E06:please try again later you claim data failed to save at portal.

    Also if I am trying to withdraw my pension but there is considering only one member id but I want to withdraw from another member id.

    pls suggest me how to withdraw my pf.

    • For the first problem, you have to try after some time or in a different system, for the second problem you have to transfer your PF amount from your previous member id to present member id.
      But remember after transfer you cannot able to withdraw pension from your previous member id, only the service period will transfer. But you can withdraw PF without any problem by using form 19.

    I want to transfer my previous PF account along with Pension details to new account. But my previous employer is not putting date of exit in my PF account even after i requested them many times. Now my present employer has opened new account and i am not able to transfer online bcoz of no date of exit in my previous pf account. My new employer is telling its difficult to transfer without date of exit please provide me the solution.

I have worked one &half year in previous company i have doj & doe , and joined new company with same uan number worked only 1 month i dont have date of exit in current company i left the current job 3 months back my employer is refusing to update doe . Please help me by suggesting me how to claim pf of previous company .

    • Hi Lokesh R,
      Better withdraw your previous company PF amount either in online or offline ( If online doesn’t support) and next times onwards whenever you join in new job continue the same UAN. You can transfer that one month PF transfer by submitting PF transfer form 13 offline to PF office, even without date of exit.
