Java Version & System Requirements For EPF Digital Signature

If you are struggling to approve the KYC details of your employees with the digital signature in PF portal, and are you always redirecting to Java update page while updating KYC of employees, and even after installing the latest version of Java also if you are not able to use DSC for KYC approval then read this completely.

Java releases updates regularly and whenever Java releases an update then you will be redirected to Java update page. There you can download and install the latest version of Java.

But here the problem that employers are facing is even after installing the latest version of Java also they are not able to approve KYC with DSC.

Here the problem is not with the Java, it is with the browser which you are using. Java is a computer programming language needed to run some software programmes. So it is always better to install the latest version of Java.

Browsers Required For EPF DSC:

If you are a Chrome user then you need to install a Google Chrome version less than 42, if you are a Mozilla Firefox user then you need to install version 48.

The above versions of these browsers don’t support Java plugins. When you use the above version of these browsers then you will find this message

“We have detected you are using Google Chrome and might be unable to use the Java plugin from this browser. Starting with Version 42 (released April 2015), Chrome has disabled the standard way in which browsers support plugins “

You can observe it in below images.

For Chrome Users:

Suppose if you are using Google Chrome version 48 then I will find this message the same will happen in case of Firefox also.

I go to Member > Approvals and click on the Approve button and have the digital signature (DSC token) available and connected. I got a popup which says ” This will open the utility for digitally signing the pdf. …” and when I click on OK it shows “Approve Activity” but then redirects to https://www.java.com/en/download/win10.jsp I already have the latest version of Java installed and updated on my computer.
