Unable to Process OTP Request in EPF: What to Do ?

Due to heavy traffic on the PF website and some time due to server issues EPF members may not receive the OTP while transferring their PF amount or while submitting PF claim forms like form 19, 10C, and 31. The same message will also be seen as a failure to send OTP while transferring PF.

If you are also facing a problem with unable to process OTP requests in PF then the simple solution is,  wait for some time, at least for 1-2 minutes and click on resend OTP. Now fresh OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and enter that OTP and verify your claim request.

The second option is logout from your UAN member portal and again login with your UAN and password and start applying for PF again.

In most cases the above two solutions will solve your problem, still, if you are getting the problem then raise a grievance at the PF portal.

To Which Mobile Number OTP will be Sent to in PF

The OTP will be sent to the Aadhare registered mobile number of the employee. i.e OTP will be sent to the mobile number which is linked to your Aadhar card.

What to do If EPF Member Doesn’t Have Aadhar Registered Mobile Number?

If your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhar card then you need to link it at any of your nearest Aadhar enrollment centers. Without Aadhar registered mobile number it is not possible to claim your PF amount online.

  1. Looks like this is the problem across for every individual. So many people are facing problems in transfer / withdraw requests etc..,
    Don’t understand why can’t the concerned authorities take this OTP issue with utmost priority and fix it asap?

    I am also getting the same message as “Failed to Send OTP”. I have tried both option as mentioned above. But still not getting the OTP. Please fix the same ASAP.

    I thought i will not be able transfer as my DOE is after the DOJ in my new company

  4. Facing same issue from last 1 week while doing PF transfer, have tried 100 times now but still same error ‘Failed to send OTP’ and Submit button is also disabled.
    Even though through Umang APP able to receive OTP but it doesn’t have PF transfer option.
    Please help to suggest.

    Please fix this sooner as its mandatory that OTP should work on such govt official website, it has hindered my progress lot and cannot move further, After having so many complaints , hope this will be taken care sooner

  6. I have the same problem for the last 2 weeks, I visited the PF office and they told me that there’s a server problem currently because of year-end transactions. They asked me to try in first week of April.

    All these days i would get an ‘OTP sent successfully’ message but i didn’t receive the OTP. Today it’s saying ‘Failed to send OTP’.

    • Same here I have been trying for the past 2 weeks but not receiving the OTP and even i tried to register a grievance. even there also I am not receiving OTP.

      Hope so it should resolve soon.

  7. I am NOT receiving OTP from the portal for more than one week. I want to transfer my PF from previous Employer. Please suggest what needs to be done.

    • I’m facing the same problem from last 2 weeks. No idea what’s the problem. Already tried mailing to helpdesk but no response. Could you please let me know if anything works for you?

  9. I am facing issues in filing my PF advance and i am able to proceed with all steps until a OTP is received; once i receive i update in ” Enter OTP *” field, validate OTP and submit claim form button is not working aven after i tried multiple times.
