Who Creates a UAN Number and How It Works
- When a person joins a new job, he give his details (like Aadhar number) to the company for PF.
- The HR Department creates a new PF account for him.
- Along with the PF account, a UAN number is also generated.
- The same UAN number will continue even if the employee joins another company.
- Only the PF account number changes with every new job.
- So UAN stays the same, but PF numbers change for each company.
- Once an employee gets a UAN, the employee should give that UAN to the new employer if they change their job.
