The employee provident fund organization of India has released a circular regarding the due date of extension for PF challan payments for April 2020. As per this circular, no penalties will be incurred on the late payment of PF contributions. Considering the present economical and operational difficulties the EPFO has taken this decision. So if any employer fails to make PF challan payment for the month of April 2020 on or before 15 May 2020, then they don’t need to worry about penalties.
As we know the PF due date for March 2020 was extended up to 15 May 2020, like that now any employer fails to make PF payments on the due date then no penalties will be levied on them. This will be applicable until the lockdown prolongs.
But when an employer will fully fails to make the payment of EPF for any month then EPFO will recover damages from the employer under section 14B of employee provident fund act 1952.
But there is no information has provided regarding PMRPY benefit for the employers during late payment of EPF contributions for the month of April 2020.
