How to Update KYC Details for PF Withdrawal in 2019

Linking KYC details like Aadhar number, bank account number with UAN number is mandatory to claim PF amount online, there are some cases where PF claim amount is more than 50000 Rs then you need to link your PAN number also. EPF KYC linking involves two steps they are 1. Updating EPF KYC online and 2. Approving EPF KYC details by the employer.

How to Update KYC Details Online by Employee

Step 1: To update KYC details with UAN number login to UAN member portal with UAN number and password. After login go to Manage option in the menu and select KYC option from the submenu.

Step 2: Now enter Bank account details like A/C number and IFSC code, Aadhar details like Aadhar number and name, and PAN number(Not mandatory for claims below 50000 Rs in less than 5 yrs of service). After adding all the details click on save.

Step 3: After saving KYC details they will appear under KYC approval pending section. Once KYC details appear under approval pending section then the work of the employee is completed. Now it is the duty of the employer to approve KYC details of employee. Let’s see how they approve employee KYC details.

How Employer Approves EPF KYC Details of Employees

Step 1: To approve EPF KYC details employer should login to employer PF portal with establishment user id and password. In home page go to Member option in the menu and select Approve KYC pending for DS. (Employer need digital signature or E sign to approve KYC details)

Step 2: Now the employer can view the list of KYC requests which are pending for approval. Employer can check those details by clicking on view option. Now click on DS KYC or esign KYC option under approve section.

Step 3: Now insert digital signature pen drive in the computer and approve KYC details of employees. Remember Digital signature will work only in Mozilla FireFox version below 48 and Google Chrome version 48. To know more details click on this link system requirements for digital signature.

    i am trying link my aadhar card to the EPFO but it is showing as error …previously when i tries linking my aadhar in the place of number i inserted my name and in place of name i inserted number might that have been saved and now when i am trying to edit or correct it is not happening pls kinldy suggest for the same,

      If your KYC details are not approved with digital signature by your employer, then you have a delete option in your uan member portal.

  2. Hello Rajesh,

    I recently linked my Aadhar card and my bank details in my EPFO account KYC and the same has been approved. But when i click on Online service and choose CLAIM(Form 31,19&10C) option it shows a message ” Please update your AADHAAR.” Please help as to what the problem maybe.

      This happens when your aadhaar card is not linked with your mobile number. So link your mobile number with your Aadhar card.

  3. Hello I updated my details like adhar bank details election card. but not able to update PAN number getting name miss match error my name is same in all documents even i get error. still it is pending how many days it will take approve?

      There are so many cases pending like that, we don’t know when will EPFO will clear all this issues. If you have updated your aadhaar and bank details then there will be enough for your PF withdrawal process.

    I am not able to update my AADHAR details in EPF site and i’m getting the below error,
    “Aadhaar authentication failed. AADHAAR number, Name, DOB or Gender mismatch with registered data.”
    The problem is, my Employer updated NAME, DOB and GENDER details same as mentioned in AADHAR.
    Still it showing error.. I didnt see any mistake.

    This is Hariharan from chennai, previously i was working in bangalore private company and then i resigned from my job and now i am not working for past 4months. Meanwhile if i update the KYC the aadhaar showing error like details mismatch and i mailed to my previous employer regarding this error but they are not at all responding for my need, so can you please suggest me that is there any process to withdrawn my amount without help of employer either in offline or online mode. Next Qns is if i withdrawn my money completely will that UAN be still active, can i use that UAN for next complany?

    • Hi Hariharan,
      If your kyc are not updated with UAN number then it is not possible to withdraw your PF amount online. You can withdraw your PF amount offline by submitting EPF composite claim form non aadhaar along with your employer attestation. Even after PF withdrawal also your UAN number will be active, whenever you join in new organization then give that uan number to your new employer.

  6. Iam not able to update my KYC Details.
    i tried to link my Aadhar number with my UAN in https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/kyc/viewKYCRegistrationForm?_HDIV_STATE_=53-8-801163545DFCAC1F94CE1EB6637F517D getting Temporary problem at AADHAR server.     I am currently. Not working I need to withdraw PF online.aadhar is not updated in NYC there was a name mismatch(surname) I got it corrected in aadhar card but still giving error as name/gender….mismatch contacted my ex employer they are telling as I am resigned they cannot update kyc from there side.. how can I go forward prefer to withdraw online only…second question is If I update aadhar kyc by myself will it be approved by my top itself or any others approval is required

      It is not possible to withdraw your PF amount online when your kyc details were not updated.Either you have to transfer your previous PF amount or you can withdraw your PF amount by submitting EPF composite claim form non aadhaar, both are offline methods.
      Even you update your kyc details yourself also , they have to be approved by your employer with digital signature in their employer portal.

  8. From last 1 month i am trying to approve kyc but the same error message appears “unexpected error occurred” and then on clicking OK it return back to pending KYC, I have tired different java and mozilla firefox and different computer having xp , window 7 but didn’t succeed.

    What is the problem with EPFO can’t run a single website shame on Indian Govt. & EPFO Team

    my employer has ask their vendor to approve my KYC, however, the vendor has replied to me that KYC are not getting approved due to some java error.

    do you know if it is a government fault, IT issue or a computer problem at vendor site.

      • No there is no problem with any computers, it is the problem with the EPFO website, how can all the computer may have same problem, and there helpline no. is same as uttar pradesh police helpline 100 , there is no one to help they have only provided LINE but with on HELP and on calling PF office they didn’t know what the problem is about just say it the problem from delhi.

        They have created a good ECR where from they can receive money but all the rest is services are on god’s hand.

    My DOB updated on UAN and Company records are different. My actual DOB is 4th Feb 1988 and in the UAN portal its updated as 4th Aug 1988. AS per my employer suggestion I have uploaded KYC details like Bank Details, PAN Card, Voters ID card, but unable to update Aadhaar Card Number. I am getting error ”Aadhaar authentication failed. AADHAAR number, Name, DOB or Gender mismatch with registered data’. I want to withdraw the PF amount, What should I do?

      Please write about this issue on a letter and take your employer attestation, and submit that letter head along with your PF claim forms.

  11. Im getting error message when i click Online service- Form 31,19 and 10C in
    AADHAAR is not authenticated from UIDAI. Please authenticate your AADHAAR by visiting nearest EPFO office.
    My KYC hasbeen already approved and i completed the service of 4.5 years so far.

    can u please help wat was the reason for the above error in UAN

      It happens when your aadhaar number doesn’t contain your demographic and bio metric details. For example your address, finger prints etc. So please visit your nearest Aadhaar center and update your details.

    I resigned from my job in the month of February as I got the government job. My KYC is pending for the approvals with my employer. As in my appointment letter no terms and conditions about the notice period were mentioned so I left the job with an immediate effect. But now my employer is not ready to sign in my epf withdrawal from. I wrote letter to them regarding my KYC update as well as EPF clearance but they are not responding positively. Is there any procedure so that without employers signature I can withdraw my money? I have the copies of resignation letter and letter of requesting epf clearance with me. Kindly suggest something.

    When i am trying to update the PAN card in the UAN portal posting an error “Pan verfication failed. (Name against UAN does not match with the NAME in Income Tax Department)” and the same while updating the aadhar card also its posting an error “Invalid Gender details for AADHAAR authentication.” can you helpp me to resolve this issue.

      You have to ask your employer to correct your gender details in employer portal. After correction you can able to add your KYC details.

      In some cases even the same name present in PAN card and UAN portal also this error is appearing.It may be a problem with EPFO website.

            When name in UAN portal and PAN card are different like in your case, then we can’t able to add PAN card details in UAN portal. If you want to withdraw your PF amount then fill EPF composite claim forms and submit hard copy of PAN card.

    My employer has incorrectly entered another employee’s bank a/c number, PAN etc against my UAN on new unifiedportal for EPFO. When I pointed it out to them, they asked me to correct the details on the website and they’ll approve again. However now they are not able to approve any KYC because they’re getting the following error while trying to approve KYC with their DSC: “UNEXPECTED ERROR OCCURED WHILE SIGNING – Not supported yet”.

    Can you pls suggest what could be causing the above error. My entire career’s PF amount is at risk due to someone else’s bank account number and PAN etc being linked against my UAN by employer. Please help me what to do.

      You can delete the previously updated KYC details in your UAN member portal, Login to your member UAN portal there in KYC section you can delete those details. Once you delete those details then you can with draw your PF amount by submitting EPF composite claim from non aadhaar.

        Thank you very much for your reply. I have logged into member UAN portal, but I dont see any X or delete option to delete rows in Approved KYC section. Only new KYC can be added but no delete option. Do I need to open in specific browser to see that option?

          Usage of different browsers doesn’t solve your issue. You can try updating new KYC details again and ask your employer to approve that new KYC details.

            I have tried that but EPFO site is still showing old incorrect details also. I added correct details and employer has approved them. But now the KYC is showing both old KYC (incorrect details of other employee) as well as my newly added correct details. So there are 2 bank a/c numbers (one correct, one incorrect), my Aadhaar and other employee’s PAN.

            How to delete the incorrect details? That is my main issue. Please suggest something.

            If it showing your correct details also then it is not a problem, whenever you with draw your PF amount then mention your correct details on PF claim forms, then PF amount will be transferred to your correct bank account number.

    All my kyc documents(aadhar,pancard and bank details) are approved in epf portal. But when I’m trying to click on – ONLINE SERVISE-> CLAIM(FORM 31,19 & 10C) it is showing the following error.. “”AADHAAR is not authenticated from UIDAI. Please authenticate your AADHAAR by visiting nearest EPFO office”. It would be of great help if you let me out of this problem.

          Then I think it may be a problem with EPF portal. EPFO has to solve these kind of issues.In your case KYC was already approved so you can submit EPF composite claim form aadhaar, it doesn’t need your employer attestation.
